Fiona is here to help
Fiona really enjoys people and developing relationships with her patients. She regards prevention to be the most important part of dentistry and strives to provide the best possible care to her patients.
Following on from the emergency cover role, Fiona worked for two years as a dental house surgeon at Canterbury Health. Learning to care for medically compromised patients, hospital inpatients, dental emergencies and to perform minor oral surgery such as the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth. Dr Fiona also earned her IV sedation qualification there. In 1997, she moved into private practice in Auckland and spent most of her working career in what is now Lumino St Heliers. In 2017 she began to study orthodontics looking to expand her skill set and completed the POS orthodontics basic series before moving on to complete the advanced series, the aligners series and the children’s orthodontics series. She is now furthering her education with Dr Andrea Shepperson’s courses in the restoration of the worn teeth.
Fiona played hockey with a passion that was sadly not matched by skill for many years. Now retired, she spends her weekends on the side of the pool supporting and managing water polo teams.
