Diet, cigarettes, coffee and tea all leave stains that penetrate the tooth surface, creating an older, tired smile. Teeth also darken naturally with age.

In-Office Whitening

This is the fastest and most effective way to whiten teeth in the dental chair. In most cases it takes just over an hour to perform. Fees range from $900 to $1200 and produce excellent results with less sensitivity than take home systems.

A whitening gel (hydrogen peroxide) is applied to the teeth, after gums are covered by a protective barrier material. The gel is then activated using cool blue LED light. The resulting photochemical reaction lifts stains from within the tooth.

Zoom and BriteSmile are the two in-office treatments offered at City Dental at Quay Park.

Take Home Tray Whitening

This is a popular and effective way to whiten teeth. A dentist makes some thin clear trays from molds of your teeth. They fit snugly in place and are worn at night in your sleep. A gel is applied inside the tray and, over a period of 10-14 days, the teeth will whiten several shades. It ranges in price from $450 to $650 and involves 2 visits to the dentist.

Staying White and Bright

Home maintenance is an important part of any whitening treatment. Whitening does fade over time, and teeth will darken faster with a diet heavy in coffee, tea, red wine and cigarettes.
