An architect would never design a house without detailed drawings and the smile design phase allows us to develop these for the mouth.

They form a blue print of the new smile, which can be previewed in the mouth before any work is commenced.

BEFORE

trial smile

Initially models are made of your mouth. We liaise with our ceramist, to design the most complimentary smile for each patient. The new smile is waxed on models, ready for a preview in the mouth - the Trial Smile.

Dr Shepperson says:

"One of the most common questions raised by patients contemplating any kind of cosmetic transformation is the concern that they can't preview the end result. 'How can I be confident that I'll get the smile I want", is a common question.

Our approach to smile design ensures that the patient can see a close replica of the final work duplicated in the mouth, without any permanent modification to teeth.  We use a thin acrylic overlay to give patients a glimpse of their new smile.

This process allows for aesthetic adjustments at a reversible stage and ensures clear communication about patient likes and dislikes."

Cosmetic Imaging (optional)

In addition to a Trial smile, some patients want to see a makeover photograph of their new smile. Using specialized software we can reproduce your new smile on a portrait photo. This allows you to visualize a close replica of the finished result.

Now that you have had a preview of your new smile, you are ready to move to treatment.

At the end of the appointment, after any adjustments,  Dr Shepperson gently lifts off the overlay.  Once approved by you, treatment can begin.
